Terms of Use

The agreement between you and Rejoin. We wrote it in plain language on purpose — an app that speaks for you shouldn't make you decode its rules.

Effective date: June 12, 2026

The short version: the features you need to speak are free, forever, and a lapsed subscription never takes them away. Your words are yours. AI suggests; only your tap speaks. Rejoin is not a medical device, and it must never be your only way to call for help in an emergency.

1. The agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Rejoin ("we," "us") covering the Rejoin app for iPhone and iPad and the rejoinvoice.com website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service — though we'd rather you wrote to us first with what's wrong.

You must be at least 13 to use the Service yourself. A parent or legal guardian may set up and manage Rejoin for someone of any age. If you set Rejoin up for another adult — a parent, a spouse, a friend — you confirm you're doing so with their knowledge and on their behalf, and that the speaker stays in charge of what is spoken.

2. The free-core promise

This one is a commitment, not a disclaimer: typing to speak, your sayings board, routines, history, and display mode are free. If a Rejoin+ subscription expires, is cancelled, or fails to renew, those features keep working. We will not put your existing voice behind a paywall, and a lapsed subscription will never silence you.

4. Your content

Your sayings, your messages, your profile, your care log — they're yours. We claim no ownership. You give us only the narrow license we need to operate the Service: to store your synced content for you and to process the text you submit through AI features in order to return results to you. That license ends when you delete the content or your account. Our Privacy Policy describes exactly what is processed and what never leaves your device.

6. Safety: please read this one

Rejoin is not a medical device. It is a communication aid. It does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical care, formal AAC evaluation, or the judgment of your care team.

Never rely on Rejoin as your only way to summon help in an emergency. Phones lose battery, apps can fail, speakers can be out of earshot. Keep an emergency method that doesn't depend on this app — an emergency SOS feature, a medical alert system, or a person within reach. In an emergency, call your local emergency number by the most direct means available.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to break the law, to harass or defraud people, to impersonate someone without their consent (a banked voice belongs to its speaker), or to probe, overload, or interfere with our systems. Don't try to extract our AI provider's models or use the Service to build a competing dataset. That's the whole list.

8. Rejoin's property

The app, the website, the Rejoin name, the wordmark and orb, and the design are ours and protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. We don't give you the right to copy, modify, resell, or redistribute the Service.

9. What we don't promise

We work hard to make Rejoin dependable — it's built for someone we love. But the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. Some places don't allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Rejoin will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of US $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing in them takes away consumer rights you're entitled to where you live.

11. Ending things

You can stop using Rejoin any time, and delete your account and synced data in the app (Me → My data). We may suspend or end access for accounts that violate these Terms — though given section 2, we will never remotely disable the on-device speaking features of your installed app. Sections that by their nature should survive (4, 9, 10, 12) survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the laws of the state in which Rejoin's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.

13. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms, we'll update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. The free-core promise in section 2 is not something we will weaken in an update.
